King George County has an estimated population of around 20,000 people.  That is only about one-fourth the seating capacity for the fans that watch the Washington Redskins play at FedEx field.  Yet, we are spread out over nearly 180 square miles.

The volunteers of KGFR remain an integral part of the emergency services system within King George County.  Whether its responding to emergencies, standing by at local sporting events, teaching first aid and CPR, or behind the scenes with purchasing supplies,  conducting emergency planning, and performing equipment maintenance, KGFR is involved every step of the way.

This year, we are excited to announce receiving $198,500 in matching grants to help improve our radio communications and station infrastructure.  Our matching share of the grant is $33,500.  We are counting on you, our friends and neighbors, to help us out.

Once a year we appeal to you to help support our efforts by making a
tax deductible donation to our annual fund drive.  This fund allows us to:

• Conduct free public safety education
• Improve our fire/rescue equipment
• Support community activities
• Offset the cost of training
• Offset operational expenses
