Our Annual Fund Drive is Underway. Fund Drive Letters have been mailed out to all county residents. Please help support your local volunteers of King George Fire and Rescue, we remain a vital component to the safe, economical, and efficient delivery of emergency services to the community!.
King George County has an estimated population of around 20,000 people. That is only about one-fourth the seating capacity for the fans that watch the Washington Redskins play at FedEx field. Yet, we are spread out over nearly 180 square miles. The volunteers of KGFR remain an integral part of the emergency services system within King George County. Whether its responding to emergencies, standing by at local sporting events, teaching first aid and CPR, or behind the scenes with purchasing supplies, conducting emergency planning, and performing equipment maintenance, KGFR is involved every step of the way. This year, we are excited to announce receiving $198,500 in matching grants to help improve our radio communications and station infrastructure. Our matching share of the grant is $33,500.
